![]() ![]() I'm super pumped for Initiative as a mechanic for the same reason. If I don't need them, I made sure to load the deck up with effects like ] to dump mana into and burn the table out. You load yourself up, and everyone else, with treasure! So now I've always got extra mana on hand to play my favorite redirection cards. Ricochet specifically requires 4 open red mana, and you have no guarentee that you will use it, meaning that you may just hold open mana and do nothing with your turn. I love red redirect effects like ] but found that many were hard to play, especially in abundance. My favorite card in this deck is by far ] ![]() The best part about her as a political commander is that she is a built in wincon through her ability to get big and voltron when the time is right. ] - She's a blast to play and is super good at doing what she does. Your strategy also depends on your ability to strategically interact, and I feel like winning with a political commander is so satisfying because winning politically is winning a mental game. ![]() Political commanders are inherently interactive. But now I've really fallen in love with political commanders and cards because I think they bring to EDH what I love about other boardgames, and it's the interactivity. ![]() I used to be obsessed with goldfishing decks to tune them, and you can't really goldfish a political deck to a great extent. I now have a few decks that do this really well and have branched into my second archtype of interest - politics.Īt first, I was conflicted about politics. I wanted to ramp fast, I wanted to draw lots of cards, then I wanted to floor the board with permanents or otherwise execute on my wincon. I've brewed a lot of decks, and the direction I started going with most of my brews was just heavy on the gas. ![]()
